ABOUT

The Greensboro DRA is a 501(c)(3) public charity organization that shares a vision of a vibrant, connected, safe, and diverse center city. The association gives a unified voice to the people who live, work, learn, and play in the downtown area and who would like to assist in guiding the growth and development.

The DRA works to connect the communities in the downtown area and provide the downtown with improvements as identified by our members. This enables the DRA to assist in combating community deterioration. All of our charitable efforts are put toward these specific projects.

PROJECTS WE SUPPORT

The Greensboro DRA hosts an annual Sip-n-Stroll fundraiser, with the net proceeds raised allocated to support projects that combat community deterioration in downtown Greensboro.

The Greensboro DRA has pledged support to the Downtown Greenway and in turn will have a  commemorative naming opportunity in the form of a bicycle rack that will be located at the "Freedom Cornerstone" at the intersection of Gate City Boulevard and Murrow Boulevard.  The Downtown Greenway will run 4 miles around Greensboro's center city, passing through more than a dozen neighborhoods.

The DRA is the Founding Sponsor of No Blank Walls, a project created by Jeff Beck, owner of Urban Grinders and Ryan Saunders of Create Your City, to bring more public art and murals to the city of Greensboro. No Blank Walls will procure legal walls in downtown Greensboro for local as well as national artists to create beautiful works of art. The DRA sponsored mural can be seen at 116 E Market Street. No Blank Walls believes that high quality works of art will give residents and visitors of the city more respect for the area, thus causing less deterioration and more sense of pride in the community.
